Why do you think honest critique on your images is important?
How else will you get better? Put yourself out there. Push your comfort. Get better.
What has been the most helpful critique you ever got on an image?
That my shutterspeed was too slow. I was following all the rules of 2x focal length, nailing my focus – but my pictures were still so soft. By being told that motion blur was probably accounting for it, I upped my shutterspeed and found a zone where I can nail crisp images each time. What can I say? I’m a shaky individual

clean, fresh, pop
Where do you pull your inspiration from?
The personalities of the clients I have – I have been blessed with amazingly outgoing and sweet clients
What is one specific way that you balance work and family?
Set work hours and work only in those hours – forces me to work harder and smarter
Best biz/photo advice?
Set specific and concrete goals – complete with deadlines. Without setting these goals it will be easy to say you want to achieve something and never get around to doing it.
What have you learned the hard way?
You want just one thing? Wow! Pricing. Seeing what others are doing in other markets with different skills sets and clients. Didn’t work for me. When I realized I had to stay in my own lane and figure it out, then it worked.
How does your business deal with the rise in photographers. What have you done to standout and compete?
I have pushed myself to the forefront as a credible and knowledgeable individual that helps other photographers. This has set me apart with photographers and has attracted clients who see this credibility and heart.
