We just couldn’t wait to share this unique senior session from Forum Member, Jennifer Rapoza of Jennifer Rapoza Photography in Sonora, California!
Inspiration: Mari wanted to do a more dramatic look with the red and black for her shoot. Her Grandmother made her tulle skirt for her.
Equipment: Cannon 5D Mark2, 50mm, AB800 with 48 in octobox and reflector for indoor shots.
70-200 and reflector for outdoor shots.
Concept or Style Collaboration: Yes, we got inspiration from Pinterest. We searched photos of Black Swan, but Marielle didn’t want her images to be that dramatic. Our area is in a severe drought right now so everything is dry, tan and brown. We knew to get a dramatic, colorful look we needed colors in her wardrobe that would pop against the dry grasses.
Editing: A bit of contrast added to make the red and black pop against the dry grasses.
Favorite thing about this session: I’m drawn to dramatic color and love the way Marielle’s wardrobe pops in these images. Putting a ballerina wearing a tutu in a field of dead grasses is unexpected and comes out beautifully.
Thank you Jennifer for sharing your gorgeous work with us!
