Chic Critique is super excited to host our own “PHOTOGRAPHY IDOL” competition this August-September!


OUR CELEBRITY JUDGES:

   

WINNER GETS:

  • Prize pack (see below) valued at over $1000
  • Winner will become our next Celebrity Photographer (which will require at least one month of paid critiquing)
  • Images featured in January issue of Chic Magazine

HOW IT WORKS:

  • Enter your best image that totally represents your style and skill by midnight on August 25th 2012
  • Our Celebrity judges will select 10 Contestants based on image quality and memorable impact
  • The Contestants will be given weekly photo challenges and will get their images critiqued during 3 live webinars
  • Live webinars (where contestants’ images will be critiqued) will be held every Monday in Sept. at 8 pm Central time
  • The public will vote for their favorite photographer every Tues. in Sept.
  • Contestants will be narrowed down by popular vote from 10 contestants to 5, then 3, then one winner
  • Finalists will be announced on the blog, Facebook, and in our newsletter so be sure to subscribe to those to find out who made the cut
  • The winner will be revealed during our Season Finale on Sept. 24th & will be crowned our newest Celebrity Photographer
BY ENTERING YOU ARE COMMITTING TO:
  • Must be available to participate in 4 live webinars every Monday in September at 8 pm Central time (EXCEPT ON LABOR DAY! That webinar will be held Tuesday, Sept. 4th) 
  • Do 3 weeks of photo assignments if you make it to the final cuts
  • Showcase your images to the world for live critiques
  • Must be prepared to find models on short notice
  • Must submit photos that were taken specifically for this contest for your assignments. Submitting old work for your assignments will automatically disqualify you (we will check the file info!)
  • Winner will become one of our (paid) Celebrity Photographers which will require an investment of time to do 4-week Critiques
LIVE WEBINAR DATES:
You must be able to attend all of the following live webinars in order to be a contestant:
  • TUESDAY Sept. 4th (please note: date has been moved to Tuesday due to Labor Day) 
  • Monday Sept. 10th at 8 pm Central time
  • Monday Sept. 17th at 8 pm Central time
  • Monday Sept. 24th at 8 pm Central time (Season Finale announcing winner!)

HOW TO ENTER: 

  1. Post your best image on YOUR own blog with a link back to Chic Critique. Your image will not be submitted  if you don’t include a link back to Chic Critique in your Photography Idol blog post.
  2. Next, submit your permalink (not your main blog address) from your own Photography Idol blog post to the frog icon on this page. Your image will then show up as a thumbnail on this page and allow our readers to click on your image to check out your blog.
